I enjoyed working at Abesville with Sue as well as living in the same neighborhood for a few years. We could always have a good time talking about the quilts we were working on or wanted to make. So admired her hand pieced quilt blocks and her patience and skill. Condolences to Chris and his family from Karen Mills.

I loved Mrs. Mashburn. When my family first moved from Oklahoma to Missouri, she was my 3rd grade teacher at Abesville. In the beginning, I was picked on being the new kid in class. She showed me such kindness. She even let me stay in the classroom once and help her instead of going out for recess. Anytime I think of Mrs. Mashburn that is what I am reminded of. She touched so many lives in a positive manner. She was a wonderful teacher. I am sorry for your loss. Trish Stewart Wilson

I appreciated knowing Sue and being her co-worker at school. After retirement I needed her encouragement to attend the retired teacher organization (she was a charter member of the Christian County organization). It was always a joy to have occasional lengthy conversations--she knew so many people, families, etc. I really missed her when she moved away. She was a caring person. My sympathy to Chris and his family.

She was my 3rd grade teacher at what used to be called Abesville elementary. I remember every afternoon her reading a chapter out a book to us after lunch. My favorite time of the day. She will be missed Connie (Harris) Wells
