Nixa, MO

Judith Rose Kopp, born October 1, 1944, in Shackleford, Missouri, to Herbert and Alma Kopp, passed away October 9, 2026.

Judith attended St. Mary's Academy in Marshall, Missouri, before continuing her education in college and beginning a career in teaching. She spent most of her teaching career in Marceline, Missouri, where her dedication to education led her to earn her master's degree and become a school counselor. She later earned her doctorate and went on to serve as a school administrator. She also coached high school golf and tennis, even taking her teams to state championships.

A farm girl at heart, Judith grew up surrounded by animals and remained a lifelong animal lover. Over the years, she cared for horses, pigs, dogs, and cats, and even raised a coyote pup named Lori. Her most recent companion was her beloved cat, KitKat. She enjoyed watching football, reading, playing golf and tennis, and spending time outdoors.

Judith had a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews. She loved having them visit during the summers, making memories with them and spoiling them every chance she got. Whether taking them for rides on her motorcycle or sharing everyday adventures, she made their time together unforgettable. She also enjoyed eating blueberries and visiting the farmers market with her nephew Chris.

Judith was truly an icon, a remarkable woman whose independent spirit, love of animals, dedication to education, and devotion to her family made her one of a kind. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her nephews, Douglas, Brian, Scott, and Chris; her niece, Dana; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Brian Patrick, Zachary, Makenna, and Matthew; and her great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, Preston, Kodi, Pierce, Kruz, and Scarlett.
