Jeannie Mae Calton

May 3, 1951 — Oct 5, 2026

Springfield, MO

Jeannie Mae Calton, 75, passed away October 5, 2026. She was born May 3, 1951, in Gunnison, Colorado, to Burl and Dorothy Cox. As a young child, Jeannie moved with her family to Versailles, Missouri, where she grew up and graduated from high school.

It was during high school that Jeannie met Larry. She knew what she wanted, and she knew how to get it—and she definitely got Larry. Just one month after graduating high school in 1969, the two were married and began a life together that would span more than five decades.

Jeannie devoted her early years to raising their son, Chad, as a stay-at-home mother. When Chad was about 10 years old, she returned to the workforce, working in human resources for several grocery stores throughout the area. She was hardworking, capable, and always willing to do what needed to be done.

Jeannie had a creative heart and loved making beautiful things with her hands. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, cross-stitch and crochet, often creating special things for the people she loved. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She treasured time spent together and created a home filled with love, warmth and memories that will remain with them always.

Jeannie is survived by her loving husband, Larry; her son, Chad Calton; and her sister, Louise.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Burl and Dorothy Cox; and siblings, Linda and John.

Jeannie will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her, but her love, laughter and the many things she lovingly made for her family will continue to be cherished.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, and cremation rites are accorded by Adams Crematory.
