Margaret Alice Rhodes, 75, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2026. Born on December 12, 1950, in Rogers, Arkansas, to Cecil and Naomi Davidson, Margaret spent part of her childhood in Springfield, Missouri, where she attended Park View High School. During her sophomore year, her family returned to Rogers, where she completed her high school education.
After attending college for a year, Margaret married and began the beautiful and busy adventure of raising four children. In 1990, life brought her back to Springfield, where she began working at a law office. It was there that she rekindled a friendship with Larry Rhodes, and what began as a familiar friendship soon blossomed into love. The two were married that same year, beginning a wonderful chapter together filled with love, companionship, and shared memories.
Margaret had a special way of making a house feel like home. She loved getting lost in the pages of a good murder mystery, crocheting blankets for family and friends, and creating beautiful pieces through cross-stitching. The blankets she made were more than gifts; they were little pieces of her heart, lovingly crafted to bring warmth and comfort to those she loved. She was also a wonderful cook who could prepare just about anything, and the love she poured into her cooking was another way she cared for the people around her. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she attended General Baptist Church in Ozark.
Above all, Margaret treasured her family. She leaves behind a legacy of love that reaches across generations, carried on through the children she raised, the grandchildren she adored, and the great-grandchildren who will continue to know her love through the memories and stories shared by those who knew her best. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love she gave so freely will remain a lasting part of the lives she touched.
Margaret is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Larry Rhodes; her children, Cecilie (Jim) Dover, Jenifer (Josh) Geary, John (Alissa) Johnson, Michael (Susan) Leslie, and Nicole (Jennifer) O’Brien; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Mark Davidson and Sarah Davidson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Naomi Davidson.
Margaret will be remembered for the love she gave, the warmth she brought into the lives of others, and the many thoughtful ways she made those around her feel cared for. Though she will be dearly missed, the love she shared will live on in the hearts of her family and friends for generations to come.
Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa and cremation rites are accorded by Adams Crematory.
