I worked in the same department with Joe while he was at Honeywell in the 1990s. We were talking one day and the subject of Benton Harbor, MI came up. I mentioned working at my uncles farm in Benton Harbor, Robert Hocker. Joe said, "That's my cousin." And so a deeper relation began between Joe and me. We eventually discovered the relationship chain. Joe's mom and grandfather, Simon, were Hosbein's. My uncles mother was Olive Hosbein, Simon's sister. What a small world. Joe was a great and hard working man. I enjoyed my time getting to know Joe. He will be missed.

My dearest DAUGHTER 2 and family,
My heart aches in Joe's absence, but rejoices in his final destination with our Lord. He indeed was a wonderful man, and you are so fortunate in having him so close to you. May he rest in eternal peace and may you and the Gaunder family be comforted at this time.

So happy to have had the opportunity to meet Joe.and hear his chosen words of wisdom every Sunday evening. Blessings to all of you as you learn to live without his physical presence. Love you all.

Joe was a very kind man of God. I see why Jennifer turned out so well. He was a continuous source of love, paving the way for Jennifer to believe that God also is love.

I have so many fond memories of Uncle Joe and his friendly ways and clever ribbing. As a kid, he sent us a stack of color 8x10 photos of the Viking 1 Lander on Mars and boy did that impress our classmates! Actual photos of the surface of Mars were pure gold to a 4th grader. Fast forward many years later and he was always my crossword puzzle buddy if we were both visiting dad at the same time. Go gentle and sweet. Rest in peace, Uncle Joe!
