Billye Gene Craig

Billye Gene Craig, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was born in Pearl, Missouri, on December 16, 1930, to Hershel and Helen Gorman and went home to be with the Lord on October 31, 2026.

Billye and her younger sister, Helen Beth, enjoyed an active and happy childhood in the Willard area. Billye was a graduate of Willard High School and attended SMSU for two years. Soon after high school, she married her husband of 45 years, Danny Lee Craig.

Billye and Danny leave behind three children: Mike Craig and wife Kathy of Nixa, Missouri; Cindy Craig of Springfield, Missouri; and Dana Rookstool of Branson, Missouri.

Billye was also blessed with four grandchildren: Stephen Craig; Katie Brosseau and husband Kyle; Kyle Rookstool and wife Leila; and Brett Rookstool and wife Emily. She also cherished her seven great-grandchildren: Audra and Anna Brosseau; Bo, Owen, and James Rookstool; and Elle and Scotty Rookstool.

Billye was preceded in death by her husband, Danny; her sister, Helen Beth Kern; her son-in-law, Scott Rookstool; and her cousins, Nancy Crighton and Judy Frost.

Billye was a devoted member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Springfield. Her long and fulfilling life will be celebrated in a private family service.
