William (Bill) F. Shank, age 78, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away on September 23, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.
Bill was born on August 7, 1947, in Salina, Kansas, to Ralph and Millie Shank. He graduated from Solomon High School in 1965. Bill went on to have a long and successful career in sales and management with multiple John Deere dealerships across Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri.
Bill was a husband, father, brother, son, friend—and most importantly—a follower of Christ. He was known for his love of the outdoors, especially fly fishing and hunting. He loved teaching others how to be successful at what he was passionate about. For many years, Bill guided whitetail deer and turkey hunts. Later in life, he discovered a new love in fly fishing. He and his wife led many groups on unforgettable fly-fishing trips to Belize and Alaska, sharing unique experiences with others.
Bill was also a die-hard Chiefs fan and was never shy about explaining exactly how he’d fix the team at any given moment. He was an accomplished fly tier and found great joy in woodworking and doing anything with tools in his hands. A jack of all trades—and a master of many—Bill loved making things for his friends and family and was always willing to lend a hand when a wrench needed turning.
Above all, Bill loved his wife and children and took immense joy in being "Paca" to his grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his wife, Sarah Shank; his son, Kris Shank, and wife Denise of Rogersville, MO, along with grandchildren Reagan, Reese, Riley, and Cole; and his daughter, Jamie King, and husband Josh of Atascadero, CA, along with grandchildren Emery and Waylon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Millie Shank, and his brothers, Wayne and Bob Shank, as well as many other dear friends and family members.
The family will be hosting a celebration of life on November 1, 2025, at South Haven Baptist Church, 3253 S. Campbell Ave., Springfield, MO 65807, at 1:00 p.m. The family invites you to come, share in fellowship, and celebrate Bill’s life.
