James Willard Rantz, age 94, of Nixa, Missouri Passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022, in his son’s home surrounded by his loving family.
Willard was born on May 1, 1927, in Reeds Spring, Missouri to the late James “Jim” and Gertie (Logan) Rantz.
Willard was united in marriage to Wilma Bush on September 12th, 1949. To this union two sons were born. Willard was a family man. He was a godly witness to all who knew him. Willard was a member of Calvary Bible Church in Nixa previously serving as a deacon. Additionally, he was a member of The Gideons International organization for the past fifty-eight years where he distributed bibles and spoke to others about the grace of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Willard joined the United States Army, serving his country during World War II. After serving his country in war, he became service manager at Heer’s department store in downtown Springfield. He then retired after thirteen years of teaching at Graff Vocational School.
Willard loved St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He also enjoyed raising cattle and sharing ranching advice to many family, friends, and neighbors.
Willard was preceded in death by his parents, wife Wilma Rantz, and son Jim Rantz. He is survived by his son Tom Rantz and wife Vicky, daughter-in-law Brenda Rantz, grandsons Colter Rantz (Hailey) and Zac Rantz, and one great grandson on the way.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are asked to be given to The Gideons International organization.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Following the service, burial will take place at McConnell Bledsoe Cemetery in Nixa, Missouri. Family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 28, 2022 at the funeral home.
Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.
