Wesley Albert Thurston, 73, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on February 20, 2026.

Wesley was born on July 30, 1952, in Springfield, Missouri, to Frank and Shirley Thurston. From an early age, Wesley was known for his strong work ethic, generous spirit, and gift for conversation—qualities that would define his life.

During his senior year of high school, Wesley answered the call to serve his country and joined the military. First he served in the U.S. Marines and then the U.S. Army. While he was away at basic training, his devoted girlfriend—who would soon become his wife—finished his coursework so he could graduate, a testament to the deep partnership and love they shared from the very beginning.

Wesley had his heart set on working at Trux Trailer Repair. Determined to prove himself, he worked without pay helping to build the company’s building, hoping for the opportunity to be hired. His determination paid off. He went on to dedicate more than 40 years to the company, where he was respected for his loyalty, skill, and unwavering commitment.

He never met a stranger. Wesley was a natural storyteller and a jokester who could light up any room with his humor and easygoing nature. He loved raising cattle, treasured time spent outdoors, and found peace in sitting on his porch, drinking coffee, and watching nature in the mornings. Rarely one to sit still, he was always working on a project or lending a helping hand to friends and neighbors. His kindness and willingness to serve others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Above all, Wesley was kind-hearted and a Christian at heart, living his faith through quiet acts of service, generosity, and love.

Wesley is survived by his daughter, Tracey Allen; granddaughters, Lacey, Makenzy and Shelby Tarwater; great-grandsons Bentley and Royce Vaughan; great-granddaughter Riverlynn Parsons; brothers Les (Becky) Thurston and Garry (Patty) Thurston; and long time girlfriend, Gabriella Noll.

Wesley is preceded in death by his parents and brother Larry Thurston.
