Virginia “Jeannie” Lang, 96, of Ozark, Missouri, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. She was born on June 26, 1929, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to William and Mary Pauloski. After her mother’s passing when she was just 14, Virginia was raised with love and guidance by her stepmother, Florence. She grew up in Pittsburgh’s “Polish Hill” neighborhood, where her faith and values were deeply rooted.
A devout Roman Catholic, Jeannie lived her life with grace and devotion. In 1951, she married Raymond Romanowski, and together they raised three children until his passing in 1967. Determined and strong, she moved her family from Lawrenceville to Shaler Township to be near her sister, where she lovingly raised her children as a single mother. In 1975, she found love again and married George Lang, with whom she shared many years until his passing in 2003.
Jeannie was a proud member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. She enjoyed bingo nights, cheering on the Pittsburgh Pirates and Penguins, and treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren. Known for her elegance, she never left the house without her makeup perfectly done and believed that everything should always be in its place. She remained remarkably healthy and vibrant throughout her life, a true testament to her spirited nature.
She will be remembered as a woman of faith, strength, and love for her family.
Jeannie is survived by her children Robert Romanowski, Donna Smith (Chris), and James Romanowski (Val), grandchildren Christina Henry, Kevin Hulbert, Lyndsey Fermin, Ryan Romanowski, Kelly Romanowski, Timothy Romanowski, Joshua Romanowski, and Danielle Romanowski, her great grandchildren Lauren Henry, Tyler Henry, Ayla Hulbert, Anna Henry, Kynzie Hulbert, and Savannah Phillips, and her step brother Thomas Szmed.
Jeannie is preceded in death by her three parents, William, Mary and Florence, her first husband Raymond Romanowski, her second husband George Lang, sisters Eleanore Secen and Barbara Nicely, and step brothers Louis Szmit and Kenneth Szmed.
Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, and cremation rites are accorded by Adams Crematory.
