Victor Michael Staelens Sr.

Victor Michael Staelens Sr., age 83, passed away on August 4, 2026. He was born on February 6, 1943, to Clarence and Kathleen Staelens.

Victor attended Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, Tennessee, before serving his country in the United States Air Force from 1964 to 1966. During his service, he was stationed in Greenland during the Cold War and Vietnam era.

Victor married Linda M. Mulkey in May 22, 1965 after the two met on a blind date while he was serving in the Air Force. They shared 49 years of marriage until Linda's passing in 2014. Together they enjoyed traveling throughout Texas and New Orleans. They also loved antiquing and operated an antique booth where they bought and sold antiques.

Victor worked for Drury Hotels where he served as Manager and Construction Estimator for 23 years. He was known for his dedication and strong work ethic.

In his free time, Victor enjoyed competitive pistol shooting and photography. He especially loved traveling to natural areas to photograph the outdoors and shared his work on his photography blog, where he gained many followers.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Kathleen Staelens; his wife, Linda M. Staelens; his sisters, Vivian (Dick) Lowder and Christine (Jamieson) Brant; his brother, Clarence Bernard Staelens Jr.; and his brother-in-law, Pat McCarver.

He is survived by his son, Victor Michael Staelens Jr.; his sister, Liz McCarver; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who will cherish his memory.

Victor will be remembered for his service to his country, his love of travel, his passion for photography, and the many friendships he made throughout his life.
