Teresa Ann Myers, 70, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, February 2, 2026. Teri was born in Wichita, Kansas on December 19, 1955, the daughter of Bud and Diane Cox. She grew up in Dodge City, Kansas, and graduated from Washington High School in Kansas City, Kansas.
In 1983, Teri moved with her family from Dodge City to Ozark, Missouri, with the dream of raising her two young kids and helping her husband start a business, Heavy Duty Rebuilders Supply, Inc. She kept the books and managed the office of Heavy Duty, providing critical support as the business grew from a two-person team to a worldwide supplier of used diesel engines and parts.
Teri was a devoted wife and mother, and she created a warm and loving home for her children and their friends, many of whom called her “mom.” She loved time in nature, animals, and gardening and spent some of her happiest days outside on their small family “farm” tending to and creating pets out of the family horses and steer, nursing to health an occasional orphaned calf or fawn, and spoiling her beloved dogs, cat, and birds. Teri had a big heart and contributed her free time to caring for aging neighbors, volunteering at a local children’s horse therapy program, and serving as a volunteer firefighter. She was loved by many.
Teri is survived by her son Derek Day and wife Michelle of Nixa, Missouri; daughter Shelbi Day and wife Jennifer Egelseer of Madison, Wisconsin; sister Kelly McCright and her husband Micheal of Greenbrier, Arkansas; brother Kenneth Hays and his wife Andrea of El Dorado, Kansas; four grandchildren Kelby Day, Ella Day, Alexandra Egelseer-Day, and Gabriel Egelseer-Day; and several beloved nieces and nephews.
Teri was predeceased by her birth father Lewis Hays, parents Bud and Diane Cox, ex-husband and father of her children Burk Day, and husband Micheal Myers.
