Teresa Kay Helt

Teresa Kay (Thomas) Helt, age 59 of Clever, passed away May 26, 2025. She was born December 18, 1965 in San Marcos, Texas, the daughter of Alvin and Alice (Mangum) Thomas.

On July 17, 1982, Teresa was united in marriage to William Franklin “Bill” Helt. Bill preceded Teresa in death on January 22, 2023.

Teresa was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She worked as an associate for Walmart in her later years. Teresa was a member of Hurley Baptist Church. 

Survivors include: two sons, Franklin Helt and wife, Shannon of Clever, and Kevin Helt and wife, Erin of Clever; six grandchildren, Luke, Phillip, Allison, Brittney, Kaitlyn, and Madison Helt; all of Clever; her siblings, Betty Sue Plane and husband Red of Texas, Darlene Tarlton of Texas, Calvin Thomas and wife Elaine of Texas, Russell Thomas and wife Veronica of Texas, and Greg Thomas of Texas.

Teresa was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Dorothy, Kenneth, Sharon and Gary.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025 at Hurley Baptist Church, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Pastor Larry Winfree officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Clever. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. immediately before the funeral at the church.
