Sue Porter

            Sue Porter of Sparta, passed away peacefully in her home April 16, 2023.  She was born May 6, 1949 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Leonard and Mildred Lorene (Chastain) Polacoff.

            Sue was a caring and giving person, willing to help when she could.  She and her husband David were owner/operators of Porter’s So-Lo Markets in Springfield until their retirements. Sue enjoyed her time outdoors tending to her garden and flowers.

            Sue was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Gary Parker, Danny Polacoff and Billy Polacoff; and her sister, Ann Epperson.

            Sue is survived by her husband David of 31 years; her brother, Harry Polacoff  (Kathy); daughter, Candy Mesenbrink (Kim), son, Corey Moore; stepson, John Porter (Becky), stepdaughters, Kathy Wagaman (John), Kelly Kauble (Brad); grandsons, Jeremy Fullerton (Abby), Tim Wagaman (Alyssa), Tom Wagaman (Louisa) and Jonathan Porter; granddaughters, Lauren Greenberg (Caleb), Kayrn Jo, Mary Beth Porter and Ericka Porter; two great grandsons, two great granddaughters; and several nephews and nieces.

            Sue will always be loved and missed by all who knew her.   

            A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 21, 2023 at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Dr. Phillip Burden officiating. Burial will follow at Selmore Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. immediately before the funeral in the funeral home.
