Steve had a big heart for animals, and most recently shared his home with his dog, Cocoa. He was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Ozark. Survivors include: Two children, Ryan Barton, of Rogersville, and Brooke Smith and husband Paul of Ozark; grandchildren, Amber, Kaylan, Sean, Elliot, and Aria; a great-grandchild, Bentley; brothers and sisters, Stan Barton and wife Beverly of Ozark, Anita Barton and husband Larry McCord of Ozark, Ron Barton and wife Sandy of Peel, Arkansas, and Janice Irsik of Sparta; nieces and nephews; other relatives and numerous friends. A graveside memorial service with full military honors will be 12:00 noon Friday, August 23, in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield.
