Sharon Ann Syler

In Loving Memory

Sharon Ann Syler, 77, of Nixa, Missouri passed away February 28, 2022 at Mercy hospital with her family by her side after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

She was born on April 7, 1944, in Pontiac, Michigan to Roy E. McKinney and Mabel (Richardson) McKinney.

She married her sweetheart Bill Syler on September 11, 1965. Through this loving union they had two daughters. She was a graduate of University of Missouri Business school and went on to become a CPA. She worked as a business owner, accountant, taught accounting classes as an adjunct professor, and later started and ran her own successful accounting consulting business until she retired in 2016.

She loved spending time with her family. Throughout the years she was active as a parent and grandparent in her most loved role as proud supporter. She was a Girl Scout troop leader, spoiled all with her love of shopping, infectious laugh and long hugs.

She enjoyed family gatherings, attending soccer games and many other sports events supporting her grandkids and their friends, and attending plays, recitals, talent shows and any other activity involving her loved ones.

Sharon is proceeded in death by her parents, brother Roy E. McKinney, brothers-in-law Buford Wilson, E.L. Slaughter, and Leonard Fredericks.

She is survived by her loving and supportive husband, children Christie (Josh) Hirsch (Nixa, MO), and Shelley (Greg) Brueggemann (Ashland, MO), grandchildren, Nathan and Kyle Hirsch, Justin and Haley Brueggemann, brother Mark McKinney, sisters-in-law Fannie Wilson, Delpha Slaughter, Genola Fredericks, and many other beloved family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
