Sharon McGahhey Luxon was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and grew up in DeWitt. She later graduated from Arkansas State University with an English degree. Sharon lived in Hawaii for nearly 30 years where she held many jobs, met her loving husband, Lawrence (Larry) Luxon and helped run the family bowling alley.
Upon retirement, Sharon and Larry returned to Arkansas and settled in Fairfield Bay where she was active in many civic organizations and helped start FFB’s Little Theatre Company and later served on city council. She was preceded in death by her parents Floyd and Roberta McGahhey as well as her husband Larry. She is survived by her son, Shane Hatley (Becky) and three granddaughters, Meredith (Alivie Inman) and Lilly Hatley and Halle Thompson, Her brother Gary McGahhey and her two nieces Reagan (Corey Davis) their 2 sons, Daxton and Deagan and Courtney (Nate Looney). Along with numerous other close friends and extended family.
A celebration of life will be held on June, 13, 2026 beginning at 11 AM at the Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church in Fairfield Bay. If attending the service we ask that you wear your favorite Hawaiian shirt.
Cremation rites were accorded by Adams Crematory and arrangements were under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
In lieu of flowers the family asks you to make a donation in her name to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
