Scott Alan Rookstool was born on May 13, 1959, in Kansas City, Missouri. He married Dana Elizabeth Craig on October 26, 1985, and moved to Ozark, Missouri. Scott and Dana joined First Baptist Church, started their family in a 1920s (Collins Road) farmhouse, and rooted the rest of his life in southwest Missouri.
God gifted Scott with the ability to create beauty, order, and community in every place he was called. He exercised these gifts when he crafted custom homes, facilitated a Bible study class, managed facilities at Jack Henry, and served his local church. Scott loved his work, but nothing exceeded his devotion to his Savior and his family. He modeled servanthood and consistency in abiding in Christ and serving others. He instilled wonder and good-natured orneryness in his children and grandchildren. He created a life of great adventure with his wife. And he never allowed an opportunity to pass to share the gospel.
He is survived by Dana, his wife of 41 years, his daughter Katie Brosseau and husband Kyle, and their two daughters, Audra and Anna; his son Kyle Rookstool and wife Leila, and their sons Bo, Owen, and James; and his son Brett Rookstool and wife Emily, and their children Eloise and Scotty. He’s also survived by his father, John Rookstool, and mother, Elaine (Fritz) Rookstool; his brother Brian and wife Gina; his brother Craig and wife Lorie; his sister Johnelle and husband John Rhines.
