Ruth Meadows

Ruth Velma (Scott) Meadows of Walnut Shade, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 6, 2026 at the age of 89. She was born November 18, 1936 to Millard and Hazel (Traughber) Scott. 

On May 15, 1954 Ruth and Harvey Joe Meadows were united in marriage and enjoyed almost 63 years together prior to his passing in 2017.

Ruth and Harvey were dedicated, loving parents to their two sons, Scott Hansen and Gene Austin, and went on to enjoy the blessing of five grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Ruth had a career working for Ozark Abstract for many years. After her retirement she loved traveling, especially to the beach. Ruth was a member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church.

Survivors include her two sons Scott Hansen Meadows (Shari) and Gene Austin Meadows; five grandchildren: Gabe Meadows, Heather (Jason) Chastain, Brandon Meadows, Cassi (Mikey) Wages, Hannah (Josh) Luttrell; 15 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; two sisters: Mae Tennis and Charolette Scott; and a brother-in-law, Roy (Marilyn) Meadows.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents as well as her husband, Harvey Meadows, and a sister, Mamie Wernink.

Visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark on Sunday, March 8, 2026 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held Monday, March 9, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark with Pastor Ron Adrian officiating. Burial will follow at Prospect Cemetery.
