Ozark

Rose Anne Cox, age 89 of Ozark, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026. Born May 27, 1937, in Spokane, she was the beloved daughter of Noel and Rose (Mease) Cox. Throughout her long life, Rose Anne embodied dedication, generosity, and spirit, touching the lives of many in her community and beyond.

Rose Anne devoted the first 20 years of her career to teaching, impacting the minds and hearts of countless young people. After her years as an educator, Rose Anne began a new chapter working for Dwight Cox Cattle Company, a role she held with pride and commitment for the next 40 years. Later, she went on to serve at the Christian County Collector's Office for several years prior to her retirement, always bringing to her work a sense of diligence, respect, and integrity.

A dedicated member of the community, Rose Anne was a Republican Central Committee woman and volunteered her time generously for many years. She brought energy and enthusiasm to every cause she embraced, earning the love and respect of her peers. In addition to her professional and civic life, Rose Anne found joy and camaraderie in bowling, and she treasured the fun times spent gaming with her sister-in-law. Her love for gardening was another reflection of her nurturing spirit, allowing her to find beauty and peace in nature.

Faith was a guiding light in Rose Anne’s life, and she was a proud and active member of Selmore Baptist Church for more than 50 years. Her fellowship there enriched her days and provided lasting friendships and spiritual nourishment.

Rose Anne’s family was central to her heart. She is survived by her brother, Dwight Cox and his wife Mary Jo of Nixa; sister in law Janetta Cox of Ozark; and her nieces and nephews: Renee Newman, Gregg Cox and wife Jennifer, Shelly Hughes and husband Wayne, Amy Knight and husband Jeff, Colby Cox and wife Stacy, Marla Hull and husband David, and Melissa Sixkiller. She was also cherished by several great and great-great nieces and nephews, who loved their Aunt Rose dearly. A special cousin, Claire Frances Draffen and husband Tom also survive her, each grateful for the warmth and closeness she shared.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents and her brother, Bill Cox. Though she will be deeply missed, Rose Anne’s memory will live on through the many lives she touched and the lasting values she imparted to her family and community.
