Roscoe "Cotton" Linebaugh

Roscoe "Cotton" Linebaugh of Nixa, Missouri, passed away on July 7, 2025, at the age of 92. He was born on July 19, 1932, to Samuel and Ella (Mason) Linebaugh.

Roscoe attended Nixa Schools. He was drafted into the United States Army in 1953 and proudly served during the Korean War.

In the 1960's he worked at Wisner Feed Mill before starting his own lime and fertilizer business in 1972.

Known to many by his nickname "Cotton” he was a jokester, a bit ornery, and always carried a good sense of humor. But what he said went!

He was baptized in June 1964 by Pastor Joe Fahl at Hawkins Bridge in Nixa. He loved classic country music and old westerns, especially John Wayne and Gunsmoke. His favorite pastimes included cutting wood, mowing the yard, and cheering on his beloved St. Louis Cardinals.

Cotton enjoyed fishing and made lasting memories with his family on camping, canoeing, and fishing trips. He also cherished holidays, weekend BBQs, and sharing food and fellowship with his loved ones.

Above all, he was a loving father and grandfather whose presence will be deeply missed.

Cotton is survived by one son, Randy (Kenna) Linebaugh; three daughters, Gail Miles, Rose (Glen) Preston, Carol (Richard) Miles; one sister, Charlcie Crumpley; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Cotton is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; three sisters; and one grandson, Chris Linebaugh.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 11, 2025, at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Missouri with Pastor Jamie Bilyeu officiating followed by a graveside service at McConnell Cemetery, Nixa, Missouri. Visitation will precede the service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
