Rosa Laverne Agnew

Rosa Laverne Agnew, age 78 of Nixa, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022, in Springfield, Missouri with her family by her side.

Rosa Lavern Shelton was born on January 19, 1944, in Lamesa, Texas to the late Leroy and Lizzie Aleen (Post) Shelton.

Rosa was united in marriage to Ernest Agnew on June 12, 1981. She was a talented florist. She spent many years creating beautiful arrangements for her community. She worked at Dillions, Mears, and most recently at Sams.

Rosa was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She cared for her family deeply and her love will forever be felt in the heart of those she leaves behind.

Rosa was preceded by her parents, her husband Ernest Agnew, son Raymond, daughter Rhonda Nichols, siblings Tommy Lee Shelton, Kenneth Raymond Shelton, Winona Jane Gressett, Mamie Joyce Gressett.

She is survived by son Steve Agnew, granddaughter Chesca Nichols, sister Retha Brooks and brother Joe Shelton.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2022, at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Burial will follow at Rivermonte Memorial Gardens in Springfield. Family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 5-6 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, 2022, at the funeral home.
