Ronald Wayne Mawhiney

Ronald Wayne Mawhiney of Nixa, Missouri passed away June 23, 2023, in his home with his faithful wife by his side.  Ronald was born November 20, 1936, in Preston, Missouri to Bertha Faye, and Everett Lee Mawhiney.

Ronald attended all 12 years of schooling in the same building where he graduated in May of 1954.

On January 28, 1969, he was united in marriage to Lela (Williams) Mawhiney, and they remained happily married for 55 years. 

Throughout his life he enjoyed time in the garden, hunting, or alongside the river fishing with his family.  Ronald was a successful businessman who worked hard from a young age. He started his career in manufacturing at the age of 17. Through his business opportunities he began traveling the world visiting Asia, South America, and Europe. In 2007 after 31 years, he retired as President and CEO of Springfield Marine in Nixa, Missouri.

Ronald was a family man who enjoyed every moment spent with his six children; Tammy, Jeff, Devonna, Mike, Randy, and Michael, ten grandchildren: Danielle, Michael, Taylor, Lance, Austin, Jansyn, Connor, Latisha, Matt, and Jacob.  Twelve great-grandchildren; Shelby, Aiden, Bennet, Remington, Baylor, Riley, Gabe, Olive, Carsyn, Nolan, Lela, and Kolbi, and one great-great grandchild; Jayda.

Ronald is preceded in death by his Son Michael, Daughter-in-law, Katy, great-granddaughter Riley, Mother Bertha, Father Everett, Brothers, Junior and Donald and Sister, Irene. 

Ronald lived a long and happy life surrounded by friends, family and loved ones.  He will be greatly missed.  

A visitation will be held on June 28, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Immediately following the visitation at 2:30, a funeral service will be held with Steve Martin officiating. Burial will follow service at McConnell Bledsoe Cemetery.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to McConnell Bledsoe Cemetery.
