Ronald Glen Dickey, 87, of Ozark, Missouri, passed away on November 25, 2025. He was born on February 26, 1938, in Marmaduke, Arkansas to Thomas and Dora (Hopkins) Dickey.
Ronald graduated from Corcoran High School in Corcoran, California, in 1956, and later earned his degree from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 1978. After high school, he entered military service—first with the California National Guard, then on active duty in the United States Army. He served for fifteen years, including wartime service in Vietnam, rising to the rank of Captain as a maintenance officer and Chinook pilot. During his time in Schwäbisch, Germany, he contributed to the development of engine-screening systems used to keep debris out of Chinook engines—screens that are still in use today.
Following his military career, Ronald retired from Chevron Oil Company, where he worked as a Production Foreman in Bakersfield, California.
On August 15, 1959, Ronald married the love of his life, Sarah Louise Pence. They shared a deep and lasting bond and kept all the love letters they wrote to each other. He missed her dearly after her passing in 2020. Ronald was a devoted husband and father—quiet but strong, thoughtful, and steady. He carried a gentle “Mr. Rogers” presence and lived by the idea that a man of few words could still speak volumes.
Ronald had a remarkable connection with animals. As a young boy, he even had a pet fox, and throughout his life animals seemed naturally at ease around him—birds would sometimes land right in his hand.
He traveled often with his family, could fix anything he put his hands to, and was known for his integrity, hard work, and faith. He was a very present dad and grandpa, attending and supporting his children's and grandchildren’s activities when he could. Ronald enjoyed politics, being outdoors, gardening, puzzles, and music—especially Jim Reeves. He also played basketball in high school.
Ronald is survived by his daughter, April (Paul) Mika; his son, Glen (Christina) Dickey; his brother, Clyde Dickey; and his grandchildren, Amanda Mika, Grace Mika and Finn Dickey
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Sarah Louise Dickey; his brother, Guy Dickey; and his sisters, Dean Barnhart and Claudine Dowdy.
Funeral Service Times and Location will be published soon.
