Roland "Bud" Kent Powell

February 14, 1951 — May 27, 2026

Springfield

On May 27, 2026, the world lost a good man when Roland “Bud” Kent Powell passed away surrounded by the family he loved so deeply.

Bud was born on Valentine’s Day in 1951 to Paul and Geraldine (Foster) Powell, who, along with his beloved wife Bonnie, preceded him in death. The values they instilled in him — loyalty, kindness, and devotion to family — shaped the man he became and the life he built.

Bud is survived by his sister Teresa Powell and his brother Scott Powell, who will forever hold his memory close.

Before building his life and home with Bonnie, Bud served his country in the United States Navy, an experience that shaped his discipline, resilience, and deep sense of responsibility.

On August 23, 1973, Bud married Bonnie, the love of his life. Together they raised four sons — Phil, Buddy, Chuck, and Jason — and welcomed four daughters‑in‑law: Emily, Dawn, Lacey, and Jessica. Their home was filled with love, laughter, and the kind of steady warmth that made everyone feel welcome.

Bud’s heart grew even fuller with the arrival of 14 grandchildren and 4 great‑grandchildren, each one a source of pride and joy. He adored them, and they adored him right back. His presence will live on in their stories, their smiles, and the lessons he quietly taught through the way he lived.

Cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory and arrangements are under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
