Roger Lee Heidt, age 76, of Ozark, Missouri, passed away on November 27, 2025. He was born June 14, 1949, in Independence, Iowa, to Iver and Gwen Heidt. Roger attended Sumner High School in Sumner, Iowa. He grew up on a dairy farm in Strawberry Point, Iowa, where he learned the value of hard work, responsibility, and caring for animals. On April 29, 1972, he married the love of his life, Rita (Gaden) Heidt, and together they built a family grounded in love, loyalty, and service.
Roger was a man whose impact reached far beyond his home. He knew and loved people deeply remembering everyone’s name and always taking the time to check in on what was happening in their lives. A true people person, he worked at the Marshfield Core Center, where his coworkers weren’t just friends—they became family. He was also a good neighbor in every sense, often found mowing a yard, feeding animals, lending a hand, or picking up trash along the roadside simply because it needed to be done. He carried a true servant’s heart.
He had a strong faith in the Lord and attended 1st Oldfield Full Gospel Church in Oldfield, Missouri. Hard-working, selfless, and humble, Roger respected both people and animals like no one else. Above all else, his core family—his wife, his children, and his grandchildren—were the most important part of his life. He loved working on the farm with cattle, spending time with his grandkids, and taking walks with his dog. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a loving grandfather who brought warmth to everyone he came in contact with.
Roger is survived by his wife, Rita Heidt; son Andre (Michelle) Heidt; grandchild Dakota (Audrey) Heidt; daughter Noelle (Ross) Burgess; and grandchildren Lydia, Brielle, Moriah, and Vivienne Burgess. He is also survived by his sisters Janice (Jim) Manley of Waterloo, Iowa; Carol (Pete) Opitz and Susan Falck of Strawberry Point, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Steven Heidt; brothers-in-law Ken Falck and Gary Unger; and other loved ones who welcomed him home.
Roger will be remembered for his kindness, his generosity, his deep compassion, and the way he made everyone around him feel seen, valued, and cared for.
A Funeral Service will be held, 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, Missouri with Pastor Alex Harrison officiating. Burial to follow at Selmore Cemetery, Ozark, Missouri. Visitation will precede the service at 10:00 a.m.
