Roger L. Gold

Roger "Butch" Lyle Gold passed away peacefully in his home on October 11, 2025. He was born on January 21, 1947 to Floyd "Tiny" and Neta Lebow Gold in Galena Missouri. Roger was an explosives engineer and worked many years for Conco Quarries, later for Journagan Construction, and Apac Construction. He was a life member of Construction Laborers Local Union 663. He enjoyed fishing at the Maples farm on Crane Creek, day trips with his beloved wife, of 58 years, Jan, and many spontaneous family road trips over the years. His main love was being with his family at any time.

He loved to tinker and helped many people to fix and repair many different items anytime they asked him for his help. He was a proud US Army Veteran who served in Vietnam as a Green Beret receiving many ribbons including a Purple Heart.

Along with Roger's parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Tim Gold, two sisters; Patsy Grayson and Judie Flood; three brothers-in-law; Pat Grayson, JB Conrad, and Jim Quirk and a sister-in-law, Ginny Maples.

Roger is survived by his wife, Janice Sue (née Maples) Gold of Nixa, MO; his son, Todd Gold of Clever, MO; one grandson, Cody Gold and his partner, Makayla Lee of Elsey, MO; one granddaughter, Kayla Simpson of Louisiana; four great-grandchildren, Maci and Markie Gold, Stella and Roland Simpson; a sister Sondra Conrad of Crane, MO; a brother-in-law, Herbert "Doc" Flood of Crane, MO; two sisters-in-law, Betty Maples and Loretta Quirk; a brother-in-law, Mel Maples, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Roger had a heart of gold. He will be missed beyond words and loved forever by those who knew him.

A visitation will be held at Adams Funeral Home in Nixa, MO on Friday, October 17, 2025, from 5 -7:00 pm.

Graveside services with military honors will be held at Crane Cemetery on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Rick Flood officiating.

Cremation rites were accorded by Adams Crematory.
