Miller

Rodney Lee Riley, of Miller, Missouri, passed away on May 28, 2025, at the age of 77. He was born on March 15, 1948, to Bill and Hazel Marvella Riley and was raised in Chadwick, Missouri.

In 1972, Rodney was united in marriage to Pamela Riley, in Miami, Oklahoma. Together they shared 53 wonderful years and were blessed with one son, David Lee Riley, born in 1978.

Rodney moved his family to Phelps, Missouri in 1982 where he owned and operated "Phelps Boots and Repair" for over 40 years.

Rodney had a passion for the simple pleasures in life. He loved hunting, fishing, and walking the hollers of Chadwick—especially around Grandma Gideon’s. He enjoyed traveling the four-state area with David during legion baseball days, always keeping an eye out for a good deal along the way. One of his favorite pastimes was gathering firewood with Stanley Gideon until the truck was overflowing.

Rodney will be remembered for his strong work ethic, love of family, and deep appreciation for the Ozarks and the outdoors.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Pamela (Payne) Riley, Miller, Missouri; a son, David Lee (Susan) Riley; a daughter; a grandson, “Red.”

Rodney is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Glenn Harrison Riley.
