Roberta Sue Potter

Roberta Sue Potter (née Arnold), age 72, of Galena, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2025. She was born on January 8, 1953, and was a lifelong resident of Galena.

Roberta was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Steve Potter; daughter LaShawn Howard and her husband Chris; son Michael Potter and his wife Sarah; six cherished grandchildren — Matthew Hyde (wife Rachael), Lauryl Hyde, McHale Hyde (Nicole), Gracie Potter, Mollie Potter, and Eli Potter; and four beloved great-grandchildren — Raelynn, Stevie, Rosie, and Marcella.

She is preceded in death by her parents George and Norma (Jiggs) Arnold; brother James Arnold; infant brother, Ricky Arnold; and sisters, Regina Arnold, Paula Stewart and Maria Molz.

She graduated from Galena High School and spent her life caring for others, both as a seamstress and a dedicated homemaker. Her kindness and love for all left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

Roberta’s faith was central to her life. She was a member of Crane Bible Baptist Church and a former member of Galena First Baptist Church, where she was a vital part of the Young Life ministry, mentoring and encouraging local youth.

Her warmth, generosity, and deep love for her family and community will be remembered always.

She was a lover, a wife, a mother, grandmother and great grandma. She loved life.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa and cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory.  

The family will be hosting a private celebration of life at a later date.
