Robert Patrick “Pat” O’Neil, age 86, of Nixa, Missouri, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025. He was born on April 10, 1939, to Guy and Thelma (Wilcox) O’Neil.

Pat graduated from Chaffey High School in Ontario, California, in 1957, after attending most of his schooling at Ozark High School in Ozark, Missouri, through 1955. Following high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Korea.

Music was a lifelong passion for Pat. He loved being part of a group of friends that got together every Monday night to play gospel and country music for over twenty years at the Mule Lip Barn. He especially enjoyed playing the guitar and singing in church. Pat was a devoted member of Highlandville First Baptist Church where he had countless friends who became like family to him and meant so much in his life.

Pat was also an avid baseball fan and enthusiastic collector of baseball memorabilia and cards. He loved the St. Louis Cardinals and the Los Angeles Dodgers and enjoyed attending games whenever he could. Another of his favorite collections was Hallmark ornaments—he had so many that his white Christmas tree stayed up year-round and was mounted to the ceiling.

Pat will be remembered for his warm heart, quick wit, and wonderful laugh. He was deeply thoughtful and caring, always remembering birthdays and proudly displaying every picture or coloring made for him by his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his brother-in-law, Glenn Scott; nieces Lisa (Roger) Lewellen, Kristina (Alan) Parry, and Cheryl (Jim) Huson; great-nieces and nephews Justin, Rachel, Sarah Scott, Brittany, Whitney, Jude Lewellen, Lily, Sophia Parry, and Reagan Huson; as well as many cousins and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Donna Kay (O’Neil) Scott; and nephew, Anthony Keith Scott.

Pat’s kindness, humor, and love of music will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life service at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa and cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory.
