Richard (Dick) Hawk was born to Charles and Ina Mae Hawk on September 5, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri. He had wonderful childhood memories of playing ball in the street in Glasgow Village, and later attended River View High School, along with his older sister, Charla.

His young adulthood was spent earning a teaching degree from Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State) along with getting drafted for a time during the Vietnam War, spending a portion of this in Germany.

He married Dorothy Beyersdofer, had 2 daughters, Toni and Dana, and moved to Warrenton from Florissant, Missouri.

His teaching career started at Jennings High School, a brief time at Warrenton High School, then settling in for the duration at Wentzville High School, teaching pottery and art, while assistant coaching men’s wrestling and football.

During his time in retirement, Dick worked alongside two friends painting houses, and spent his down time being an avid sports watcher. He is survived by his daughters, Toni and Dana, his grandchildren, Kenzie and Garrett, and his sister, Charla Abernathy.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Missouri.
