Richard Ray Baladez, beloved husband, father, son, and friend, passed away at the age of 49. He was born on January 25, 1976, in Pomona, California, to his mother, Joy Ann, who raised him with love and strength.

For 21 years, Richard shared his life with his wife, Julianna, the love of his life. Together they built a home filled with laughter, music, and two cherished daughters who were always at the center of his world. Even after Julianna’s passing, Richard made sure their girls always felt special, keeping family above everything else.

Known by many nicknames—most notably “Becky” and “Doer”—Richard earned the latter for always getting things done, whether it was fixing something, helping someone, or making sure his family had what they needed.

Richard had a deep love for God. He prayed daily and encouraged his family to do the same, reminding them that faith is a foundation to lean on through life’s ups and downs. His spiritual strength was a steady presence, guiding his family with love and hope.

He also had a passion for music, and his playlists knew no boundaries—except country, which he insisted was not his thing. He loved skateboarding well into adulthood, and when life made that harder, he switched gears and rode his bike everywhere, never one to stay still. A die-hard Las Vegas Raiders fan, Richard cheered for his team with unwavering loyalty. His love of food was legendary, paired perfectly with his devotion to Coca-Cola. Those who knew him best can smile at the memory of Richard dozing off, sandwich still in hand.

He had a big heart and a sense of humor that shone through in everyday life. Richard adored his cats and the comfort they brought him, and he made sure his family always knew how deeply he cared.

Richard will be remembered for his humor, his faith, his “doer” spirit, and the love he poured into his family. He leaves behind his daughters, Rianna and Jaymee; his mother, Joy Ann; and many family members and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

His story reminds us that a good life is not measured by years alone, but by the love, laughter, faith, and joy shared along the way.

Richard is survived by his children Rianna Baladez (Evan Kemp) and Jaymee Baladez (Gabriel Lara), his mother Joy Ann Sandoval, brothers Marcus and Anthony Sandoval, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Richard is preceded in death by his wife Julianna Baladez, and many aunts and uncles.
