Providencia "Provi" Ver Steeg

Providencia Ver Steeg, age 84, of Nixa, Missouri passed away on July 2, 2026. Providencia was born on October 17, 1941, in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico.

Providencia met Walter Ver Steeg while working in an FBI office in San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 1971, they got married in New York City. After their wedding, they enjoyed a thirty-three-day honeymoon to Europe.

Providencia was a dedicated wife, mother to her Walter's two daughters, Deanna and Liesl, and grandmother to their grandson Calvin. She took care of the home and enjoyed cross-stitching as well as crossword puzzles. She was a member of North Nixa Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband Walter Ver Steeg; her daughters, Deanna Ver Steeg and husband Joseph Timmins, and Liesl Euliss and husband Evan; and a grandson, Calvin Euliss.

Providencia was preceded in death by her mother, Ines Santiago and her stepfather, Amelio Santiago.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa with Pastor Travis Edwards officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Nixa.
