Phyllis Marie Jones, 70, Nixa, Missouri was born on August 28, 1952, to Roland and Helen (Pickel) Jochim in Lincoln, Nebraska. She passed away unexpectedly on October 7, 2022.
When Phyllis was two years old, her brother Robert arrived. They moved around a lot before Phyllis graduated high school from North Glenn High School in Colorado. While she lived there, she became an avid Broncos fan. She then attended Missouri Southern State College and graduated with a degree in elementary education in 1974 before teaching in Dadeville, Purdy, and West View. Phyllis married Ken Jones on August 14, 1976. Phyllis stayed at home to raise their three children: Andy, Holly, and Becky. When the kids were in school, Phyllis returned to teaching and taught at Forsythe until she retired. Phyllis was a member of Glendale Christian Church for the last 23 years. During retirement, Phyllis love to travel, scrapbook, and spend time with the seven grandkids.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Helen Jochim, and brother Robert Jochim. She is survived by her husband, Ken Jones of Nixa; her children, Andy (Amie) Jones of Derby, Kansas, Holly (Tony) Streck of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Becky (Adam) Beck of Springfield, Missouri; and her grandchildren Aleah, Sam, Alijah, Rachel, Josiah, David, and Alyssa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Visitation will be held from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at the funeral home. There will be no graveside services.
