Norma Jean Parks

Norma Jean Parks, 74, of Ozark, Missouri, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2025, at 12:40 a.m.

Born on May 24, 1951, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Norma was the beloved daughter of Lois and Charles Crawford. She grew up in Pittsburgh, where she met and married the love of her life, Gerald “Jerry” Parks. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family, and service.

Norma began her professional journey as an Executive Assistant, with her first full-time role supporting a vice president at Mellon Bank. Her career also included serving as an assistant to two pastors, a role that reflected her deep commitment to her faith. In 1985, she and her family relocated to Springfield, Missouri, where she continued her calling by working at Central Bible College for Gary Bruegman. She later joined James River Church, where she faithfully served for over 24 years as the Executive Assistant to Pastor John Lindell.

Her proudest accomplishments were her contributions to James River Church and the joy she found in being a devoted mother and grandmother. Norma’s warmth, dedication, and personal touch were felt by all who knew her—especially in the thoughtful greeting cards she crafted for every special occasion.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Allen. She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry; her sister, Donna; her children, Stephen and Christina; and a host of extended family and dear friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Clark Chapel in James River Church (6100 N. 19th St., Ozark, MO), officiated by her pastor, former boss, and long-time friend, Rev. John Lindell. A private graveside service for family members will follow later in the afternoon.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the many friends and loved ones who sent cards and messages, and to the caregivers who provided comfort and care during Norma’s final weeks.

Cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory, under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark.
