Nathan John Brewer

Nathan John Brewer, age 82 of Bruner passed away Easter Sunday, April 24, 2011. He was born on Good Friday, March 24, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of John and Emma (Shultz) Brewer. Nathan served his country in the U.S. Air Force before working for TRW, Hughes Aircraft and finally at Northrup-Grumman as an engineer where he worked with the stealth bomber. On December 13, 1968 he married Joan Ella Shultz, the love of his life who he adored. Nathan was a dual member of the Carrollton and Sparta Masonic Lodges. He was also a member of the Joplin Scottish Rite and Eastern Star of Sparta. Nathan enjoyed woodworking, often making toys for his great nieces and nephews. He once made a cookie cutter in the shape of a stealth bomber for Joan. Survivors include: his wife, Joan Brewer, Bruner; a brother, Jim Brewer, Scarborough, Maine; nephews and a niece; and many great nieces and nephews. Nathan was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Chuck and Lee; and a sister, Paula Gaffney. A Masonic graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. in Missouri Veterans Cemetery, Springfield under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association
