Myles E. Shreck, 88, passed away February 25, 2013, in Nixa, MO, with his loving wife, Mary Jane (Briner) Shreck, by his side. Myles was born January 28, 1925, in Muskogee, OK. He served in WWII in Europe as a medic in the 313th infantry. Myles was a master carpenter and took much pride in his work. He worked in many of the finest homes in Tulsa, OK, during the 1970s and ?80s. He worked for Gilmore and Wilson for 22 years and retired in 1986. He was a skilled furniture builder and also made grandfather clocks.
Myles is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Jane (Briner) Shreck of Nixa, MO; daughters Judy Shreck of Nixa, MO, and Jane Barton of Knoxville, TN; a much-beloved granddaughter Melanie Barton Huddleston and grandson-in-law Rik Huddleston of Maryville TN; great-grandson Myles David Huddleston of Maryville, TN; brother Warren Shreck, of Marshfield, MO; sister Martha Coltharp of Temple, TX; nephew Bill Shreck of Mansfield, MO; much-loved friends Chuck and Sherry Ramsay of Tulsa, OK.
There will be a memorial service in May 2013 in Muskogee, OK, details to be determined. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to your local Humane Society or to a research foundation on dementia/Alzheimer?s.
