Mildred Irene Walker

Mildred Irene Walker Mildred Irene Walker, age 87, Oldfield, passed away at 7:50 P.M. Sunday, January 9, 2011 in Ozark Nursing and Care Center. She was born December 14, 1923, the daughter of Roy and Myrle (Gardner) Berry. Mildred was united in marriage to John W. Walker on September 22, 1941. John preceded her in death on June 19, 2003. She and John ran the Post Office in Oldfield from 1956 until 1985. Mildred was a member of Oldfield Church of Christ. Survivors include: a son, Tom Walker, Strafford; three grandchildren, Kimberly Jo Jones, Dawn Rachel Taylor and Bryan W. Walker; six great-grandchildren, Colton Jones, Shelby Jones, Stevie Jones, Zach Daugherty, Taylor Daugherty, and Cory Taylor; and a daughter-in-law, Judy Walker, Oldfield. In addition to her husband, Mildred was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Johnny Walker. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 14 in Oldfield Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Oldfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 P.M. Thursday in the funeral home.
