Michael Duane Stephenson

Mike Duane Stephenson, 68, was born October 4, 1957, in Monroe County, Indiana, to Donald and Carolyn Stephenson and passed from this world on May 29, 2026, in Nixa, Missouri.

Mike and Debbie met in 1988 in Galesburg, Illinois, where he began his railroad career. His job took him to Montana, then to Brainerd, Minnesota, where he and Debbie married in 1999. From there, they moved to Springfield, Missouri, and later returned to Galesburg, Illinois, where he retired. He was a Mason.

Mike enjoyed deer hunting, watching motorsports, and attending several Indy races. He worked as a foreman for BNSF Railroad and was an avid collector of railroad memorabilia. Mike was the love of Debbie's life and cherished time with his family above all else.

Mike is survived by his wife, Debbie; his son, Allen Stephenson; his daughter, Alyssa Stephenson and her significant other, John Webb; his stepson, Aaron Johnson and his wife, Hope; and two grandchildren, Ryker Stephenson and Keavee Webb. He is also survived by his mother, Carolyn Stephenson of Bloomington, Indiana; his brother, Mark Stephenson of Pueblo, Colorado; and two sisters, Louann Smith of Galesburg, Illinois, and Vickey Marshall of Whitestown, Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Stephenson; and two brothers-in-law, Chuck Smith and Paul Marshall.

Arrangements are under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. Cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory.
