On this day, we bid a heartfelt farewell to the cherished soul of Michael George Hillgardner, who peacefully passed away on April 12, 2024, at the age of 58 in Nixa. Born on March 8, 1966, in Wichita, Kansas, to Elmer and Dolores (Auburn) Hillgardner.
Michael's hands found solace among the branches as an arborist; yet his heart yearned for the vast expanse of waters - be it the tranquil lakes, winding rivers, or the limitless ocean. A maestro of grilling and smoking meats, his garden blossomed under his care. An ardent follower of NASCAR, he reveled in each racing moment. But above all else, Michael's essence was defined by selflessness - always placing others before himself.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Sherry Muenzer of Nixa; his daughter Ashley Hillgardner from Aurora; stepchildren Jamie Webb, Ashley Hutchison, and Cody Muenzer from Nixa; his grandchildren; his sister Susan Davidson and her husband Richard of Wichita, Kansas; along with two brothers in law, Donald Geddes and Mark Geddes.
In the tapestry of life, Michael now rests alongside his parents and sister Linda K. Lee who preceded him in death.
As per his wishes, cremation rites have been tenderly bestowed upon him by Adams Crematory. The arrangements have been entrusted to the caring hands of Adams Funeral Home in Nixa. In every rustle of leaves and each lap of wave against shore, may Michael's spirit dance eternally.
