Michael "Mike" O'Brien Cassidy

Michael “Mike” O'Brien Cassidy, passed away on May 24, 2025. Born on September 25, 1958, in Shreveport, Louisiana, he was the son of James and Betty Eloise (Holtzclaw) Cassidy.

Mike's heart was intertwined with love and devotion, especially evident in his marriage to Janet Sepulvado, a union that brought them immense joy and companionship. Throughout his life, Mike embraced the great outdoors, finding solace in hunting, fishing, and the simple pleasures of cooking and barbequing. He was a storyteller at heart, passionately sharing the teachings of Jesus with all who crossed his path. His warm spirit and generous heart touched many; he possessed an innate ability to make friends wherever he went, embodying the essence of kindness and mercy.

In his professional endeavors, Mike worked as a car salesman in earlier years and most recently found fulfillment driving a cab in Springfield, connecting with a wide array of individuals each day.

He leaves behind a loving family: his devoted wife, Janet Cassidy of Nixa; his children, Eric Cassidy and wife Sara, Michael Cassidy and wife Tiffany, Jeremy Cassidy and wife April, Ashley Burk and husband Josh, Adam Cassidy and Dakota Cassidy and fiancée Abby Taylor; and his beloved grandchildren, Asa, Isla, Michael III, Sierra, Amelia, Matthew, Anthony, Lance, Kristan, Caden, Brynleigh, Preston, Jace, Easton, Hudson, Avery, Knox, Lennox, and Payten. He is also survived by his brothers, Chris Ebarb and wife Deanna and Sam Cassidy and wife Tammy, along with his sister, Pam Cassidy.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Adams Funeral Home in Nixa, with Pastor Kevin Carson officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Park Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.

Mike Cassidy’s spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him, a testament to a life well-lived, filled with faith, joy and unwavering love.
