Maxine House, age 83, of Chadwick, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011. She was born September 13, 1927, in Chadwick, the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Weter and Minnie Caroline (Hicks) Weter. On June 9, 1944 she and George N. House, Jr. were united in marriage. Maxine worked as a cook for the Chadwick School, and also was a inspector for Hagale"�s Garment Factory before retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Chadwick, and attended Oldfield Church of Christ. She loved her family and enjoyed being with all her grandchildren. Survivors include: six children, Paul Dean House and wife, Dolly, Conway; Patsy Osborn, Chadwick; Vicky Walker, Chadwick, Rick House and wife Kathy, Ozark, Ed House and wife Janice, Oldfield, and Penny Braden and husband Don, Chadwick; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a sister, Betty Clemens, Marshfield; and many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, George in 1991, four brothers, two sisters, and her parents. "Maxine was tougher than a pine knot. If you were in trouble, she was the one to have in your corner."� Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, April 25, in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Chuck Eakins officiating. Burial will follow in Chadwick Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7:00 "� 8:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home.
