Mary Jo Atchison

April 12, 1949 — January 18, 2024

Springfield, formerly of Rogersville

     Mary Jo Atchison, age 74 of Rogersville, passed away January 18, 2024.  She was born April 12, 1949 in Rogersville, the daughter of Benjamin and Goldie (McHaffie) Patterson.  

     Mary was united marriage to Vernon “Red” Atchison, who preceded her in death. Mary was a long time resident of Christian County.  She loved walking outdoors on the family farm.  

    Mary was a manager at Positronic.  She taught adult Sunday School at McHaffie Church.  Mary enjoyed knitting and crocheting.  She also taught her great nieces to crochet.  

     Survivors include: Nephews, Harvey Smith and his wife Lucille of Rogersville and Ben Marlin and his wife Stephanie of Greensboro, North Carolina; a great niece Laura Richardson and her husband Philip of Springfield and Breanna Marlin of Greensboro, North Carolina; Great nephews Lester John Harvey Jr and wife Stacey of Rogersville, Curtis Marlin of Enumclaw Washington and Arthur Marlin of Greensboro, North Carolina. Also several great great nieces and nephews and several great great great nieces and nephews.

     Mary is preceded in death by her parents Ben and Goldie Patterson; her husband Red; two sisters, Barbara Marlin and Norma Sue Groh; two brothers-in-laws Arthur Marlin and Charles Roy Groh; a niece Deborah Harvey and her husband Lester John Harvey Sr.

     A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Monday, January 22, 2024 in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Pastor Randy Dalton officiating. Burial will follow at Springhill Cemetery, Rogersville.
