Ellen Fulton

Mary Ellen Fulton, age 91 & 1/2, passed away Tuesday morning, August 11, 2026, and went to meet her Lord and Savior. She was born November 1, 1934, in Longrun, Missouri, to M.T. and Meda Smith.

Ellen married Ronald Edward Fulton on May 22, 1959, and they shared more than 67 years of marriage together.

Ellen loved life and fought to live right up until the end. She especially enjoyed watching her family compete in rodeos and watching her grandchildren play ball. She was truly the family’s number one fan. Ellen was also a wonderful cook. According to her great-grandsons, she made the best biscuits and gravy.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Fulton, Sparta; son, Roger Fulton, Sparta; daughter, Phyllis Porterfield, Sparta; granddaughter, LaRae Smith and her husband, Thomas Smith; great-grandsons, Payden and Cashen Smith, Barnsdall, Oklahoma; and sister, Norma Redfearn, Sparta; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, M.T. and Meda Smith; brother, Harold Smith; sister, Nona Mae Smith; and grandson, Lance Porterfield.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Lance Porterfield Memorial Scholarship through the Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College Foundation.

Memorial gifts will honor Lance’s legacy by supporting future generations of NEO students.

A funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 14, 2026 at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, Missouri with pastor Dale Roller officiating.

Burial will follow the funeral service at Sparta Cemetery, Sparta, Missouri.

Visitation will precede the service at 10:00 a.m.
