Marjory Ruth Christoffers, of Ozark, Missouri, passed away on June 23, 2026, at the age of 75. She was born on February 1, 1951, to George and Lillian McCartan.

Marj earned her Bachelor of Science in Education and dedicated more than 50 years to teaching special education. She held teaching positions in Iowa, St. Joseph, Missouri and Alaska. She had a tremendous heart for her students and was deeply committed to helping them succeed. Marj was known for her organization and expertise in the documentation and IEP process, often mentoring and educating fellow teachers in this area.

She attended high school in the Pocahontas, Iowa area. In her younger years, Marj enjoyed working as a lifeguard and was an accomplished barrel racer and enjoyed doing pole bending and buddy pickup events. In 1990, she moved to Alaska, where she embraced the outdoors through fishing, biking, skijoring, ice fishing, kayaking, and spending time at cabins.

Marj had a lifelong love for dogs and cared for many throughout the years. Her beloved Denali was trained as a pet therapy dog, and together they visited hospitals, assisted living facilities, and organizations serving individuals with disabilities, bringing comfort and joy to many.

On August 25, 1972, Marj married the love of her life, Robert Christoffers. They shared more than 50 wonderful years of marriage until Robert's passing in May of 2026.

She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, where she faithfully served in the hospitality ministry. Though a private person, Marj loved deeply and was devoted to her family.

Marj is survived by her sons, Matthew Christoffers and Michael Christoffers and wife Megan; and her cherished grandchildren, Avery, Lucy, Rosemary, Erik, Alyssa, London and fiancé Kyle, and Taylor; her brothers, Tom McCartan (Sally), John McCartan (Marie), and Dick McCartan (Mickey); her sister, Kate Lee (Chuck).

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lillian McCartan, her beloved husband, Robert Christoffers and two grandchildren, Grant and Anthony.
