Marjorie Bandy

Marjorie (Anderson) Bandy, formerly of Nixa, Missouri, died Saturday, December 4, 2021. She was a graduate of Waynesville High School in Missouri.

Marjorie was born at Laquey, Missouri on June 22, 1918, the daughter of Ora and Laura (Walters) Anderson.

Marjorie taught school two years in Pulaski County and was a substitute teacher in Nixa for ten years. She also taught piano for a total of 45 years. Marjorie was a member of Southgate Baptist Church.

On May 19, 1939 she and Kenneth Paul Bandy were married. To this union five children were born, Donna Ashworth, Wayne Bandy, Lauramae Ball, Kathryn Boone and Earl Bandy.

Survivors include her five children, Donna Ashworth, Wayne and Linda Bandy, Lauramae and Dennis Ball, Kathryn and Tom Boone, and Earl and Stephanie Bandy; twelve grandchildren, James Ashworth, Melanie Ledford, Sharum Newberry, Carrie Hoelscher, Denise Henry, Leslie Cornwell, Lisa Ball, Jenni Hargis, Drew Boone, Ryan Boone, Erika Opperman, and Lea McCartney; and 22 great-grandchildren.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth, her parents, four sisters; her son in law Claudie Ashworth; and a brother.

A funeral service for family only will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 11, 2021 at National Avenue Christian Church, Springfield, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, with Wayne Bandy officiating. Burial will follow in Rivermonte Memorial Gardens. Visitation for family only will be held from 1-2:00 P.M, immediately before the funeral at the church. the service will be livestreamed by National Avenue Christian Church at https://www.nationalavenuecc.com/pages/special-eve...

National Avenue Christian Church requires everyone to wear a mask.

Friends may pay their respects to Marjorie from 10:30 A.M. until 4:00 P.M. on Friday, December 10, 2021 at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, or from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Adams Funeral Home, NIxa.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the music ministry of Southgate Baptist Church.
