Marie Jeanette “Frangella” Boyd, age 86, of Spokane, Missouri, passed away peacefully in the sweet home she loved on September 14, 2026, just one day after celebrating her birthday with her family.

Marie was born on September 13, 1940, in Joliet, Illinois, to Frank and Olive Frangella. She attended Joliet Central High School, where she met her high school sweetheart, Jim Boyd. At just 16 years old, Marie married Jim on May 4, 1957. They shared 56 years of marriage and raised a family together until his passing in 2013.

Marie and Jim were blessed with seven children, five daughters and two sons. No matter how many times the family moved, every house became a home because of Marie.

She gave her children roots and wings to fly and taught them kindness, faith, and the importance of family.

Marie was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Ozark, Missouri. Her faith was an important part of her life.

Known affectionately as “Aunt Re,” and "grandma Ree" Marie always had an open porch for anyone who wanted to stop by for coffee and whipped cream.

Marie’s greatest joy was her family. She gave them a strong foundation, cherished traditions, and countless memories that will continue through the generations. Her kindness and the way she cared for those around her will always be remembered.

Marie is survived by her children, Kathy (Vern) Penrod, Diane Allen, Nancy (Dave) Chobar, Carol (Donnie) Stramaglia, Jimmy Boyd, Susan (Stan) Stefanowski, and Danny Boyd; her brother, Charles (Marsha) Frangella; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Olive Frangella; her husband, James Boyd; her son-in-law, Tim Rantz; and her brother, Joseph (wife-Nellie) Frangella. and her sister Mary Elizabeth.

Marie Jeanette “Frangella” Boyd was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and beloved matriarch. She leaves behind a family who will carry her memory, traditions, and the lessons she taught them in their hearts forever.
