Margaret Hopper

Margaret Elizabeth (Smith) Hopper, age 90 of Forsyth, passed away August 11, 2026. She was born July 4, 1936 in Hutchinson, Kansas, the daughter of Orley and Evelyn (Benson) Smith.

Margaret was raised on her family's farm in Elkland, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Eugene Hopper. To this union three sons were born – Michael, Mark and Douglas.

Margaret was a lifelong teacher in public school and missionary schools. She even spent one year teaching in Baguio, Philippines. Margaret loved music and was a church organist for many years. Margaret was an avid gardener – growing countless plants and tending to her greenhouse.

Survivors include: two sons, Michael Hopper and wife Nancy of Virginia and Douglas Hopper and wife Judy of Chestnutridge; four grandchildren, Danielle Ward and husband Michael, Allison Hopper, Kimberly Hopper and Aaron Hopper.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and an infant son, Mark.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Adams Funeral Home, Ozark. 

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. immediately before the funeral at the funeral home.

Private burial will be in Memorial Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Buffalo, Missouri.
