MacBien "Mac" Russell Rost

MacBien “Mac” Russell Rost, age 45, of Springfield, Missouri, passed away on May 14, 2026. He was born on June 2, 1980, in Greeley, Colorado, to Herchel and Soledad Rost.

Mac was a 1998 graduate of Rawlins High School in Rawlins, Wyoming, where he proudly played in the school band. Music remained a lifelong passion, and he enjoyed all genres throughout his life.

Mac was known as a loyal friend, a devoted father, and someone who truly showed up for the people he loved. Being present as a father and provider meant everything to him. He shared a special bond with his son, Kamden, and the two especially enjoyed taking pictures together and going for drives.

He loved spending time socializing with friends at 66Kix in Springfield and enjoyed hosting gatherings at his home, especially grilling for family and friends. Mac’s favorite pastime was gaming, and he looked forward each year to attending gaming events with friends he had met online.

For the past seven years, Mac worked at NetSmart as a Senior Systems Engineer. A true computer nerd at heart, he loved technology and all things computers. He was also a dedicated “Trekkie” who enjoyed collecting Star Trek memorabilia.

Mac took pride in his red Mazda CX-9 and was an avid gardener who grew a large variety of vegetables.

He is survived by his son, Kamden Rost; his friend and the mother of Kamden, Pam Oliver; his mother, Soledad Rost; two brothers, Randy Rost and Jack Rost; and close friends, Jason (Heidi) Essary, Derek (Mandi) Saylor, and Bruce Sturgell.

He was preceded in death by his father, Herchel Rost.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Missouri. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.  Cremation rites will be accorded by Adams Crematory.
