Highlandville

Lula Belle Winslow, age 84, of Highlandville, Missouri, passed away on November 29, 2025. She was born April 13, 1941, to Lonnie and Jessie (Essick) Grider.

On May 25, 1957, Lula married Benny Lee Winslow, and together they shared 36 wonderful years before his passing. Lula attended Spokane High School and grew up on her family’s farm in Highlandville, where they worked in the vegetable and canning business. Those early years shaped her into the hardworking, strong-willed woman she remained throughout her life.

Lula spent many years as head housekeeper for numerous hotels in Branson, Missouri, where she was known for her dedication and high standards. She loved her family deeply and was especially fond of her dog, Cinnamon, who was always by her side.

A faithful member of Green Mound First Central Baptist Church in Highlandville, Lula and Benny served their church family throughout their lives. Lula’s generous heart shone brightly through her quilting ministry—she lovingly made more than 120 quilts for church members and nursing homes, blessing countless people in times of need.

Lula is survived by her children: Rick and Sylvia Winslow of Ozark, Missouri; Vicky and Jerry Butler of Highlandville, Missouri; Mark Winslow of Ozark, Missouri; and Kevin and Carol Winslow of Highlandville, Missouri. She leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, all of whom she cherished dearly.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benny Winslow; daughter in law, Bobbie Winslow; her siblings, Louise Burk, Paul Grider, Floyd Grider, Jack Grider, and Margie Edgington; and her grandson, Sean Winslow.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Adams Funeral Home in Nixa, Missouri, with Dr. Wade Bridges officiating. Burial will follow at Martin Cemetery in Spokane, Missouri. Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m., one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home.
